Children’s Crib Service
Families are warmly invited to join us at Hexham Abbey on Christmas Eve for our beloved Children’s Crib Service — a joyful and interactive celebration of the Nativity story, specially designed for children of all ages.
This heartwarming service begins at 3PM and offers a gentle, engaging way for young ones to experience the wonder of Christmas. Through carols, storytelling, and participation, children help bring the story of Jesus’ birth to life, with costumes, readings, and a procession to the crib.
Highlights include:
- A child-friendly retelling of the Nativity
- Traditional carols sung together
- Opportunities for children to dress as shepherds, angels, or wise men
- The placing of figures in the Abbey’s Nativity scene
The Crib Service is a beautiful way to begin Christmas celebrations, filled with light, laughter, and meaning. Whether you’re a regular visitor or joining us for the first time, we look forward to welcoming you and your family.
All are welcome but tickets are required so that we can maintain safe numbers in the Abbey.
