This window shows two figures: That above is ‘SAINT PAUL’ (the names are written on scrolls behind the heads), with a sword and a book.
Below, dressed in gold, is ‘MARY MAGDALENE’ with a pot of ointment.
Memorial inscription on a brass below the window:

Three lancet windows have been executed by Messrs John Hardman and Co., of London and Birmingham, and erected in the north transept of this church to the memory of the Fairless family. They contain figures of Our Lord, the Blessed Virgin, St Peter, St Paul, St Anne, and St Mary Magdalen. The windows are in the style of the glass at Santa Croce, at Florence. [Building News 27 Feb 1880 Vol.38 p.266]
1996: Protected with 6 mm polycarbonate by B & R Glazing Co Ltd in June 1996 [Faculty reg. no.4, Faculty no.4762, granted 26 Jan 1996]
2011/2012: All the polycarbonate protection was removed and wire guards fitted by H&R Developments, Caulkerbush, Dumfries in Oct–Nov 2011 and Jan 2012. [Faculty dated 26 July 2011]
