Dedicated by Bishop of Newcastle on Sunday 27 Oct 1996. Terence Atkinson was Director of Music 1965–85.
Four new candlesticks have been given for the High Altar by Marilyn Atkinson in memory of her husband Terry who was for twenty years the Director of Music here. These candlesticks are copies of the original two [HEXAB2086] which have stood on the altar for many years and alongside which they now stand. Abbey Chronicle, Dec. 1996, p.1.
