Drawings lettered B to K (there is no A) with dates of findings; mounted on back board: 545 × 972mm. No frame.
Hodges studied Roman and early Christian remains to give himself a better understanding of features at Hexham Abbey
Eight pen & ink drawings of Roman and Saxon sculpture, lettered ‘B’ to ‘K’ (no ‘A’ or ‘J’) with dimensions and some dates of findings. All used in Plate 42 of 1888 monograph which also has ‘A’ – Flavinus:
“A, The Flavinus slab is described on page 4. B, The carved stone in the floor of the triforium in the south transept, shewn in position on Plate 28; C, F, G, and K are mentioned on pages 20 and 21; E, H, and the ‘hog-backed’ stone on page 50.”
