A message from our Rector

"A very warm welcome to Hexham Abbey’s website. I hope you enjoy browsing this site and find what you need."

“Hexham Abbey is part of the Church of England and is the parish church for the town. Prayer and worship is at the heart of the Abbey’s life but the Abbey is also a wonderful place to visit for its amazing beauty and heritage, its great shop and café, and its rich and varied programme of concerts and events.

It is also a superb venue for meetings, wedding receptions, parties, conferences and family gatherings. Whatever your reason for visiting the Abbey you can  be assured of a warm welcome and I hope you will visit very soon.”
