Ian K Brown - singer, songwriter, guitarist

Stage time 2.20pm

Ian has sung, played guitar and performed from his teenage years. Formerly a Deputy Headteacher but since 2007 has been an instrumental teacher for guitar, ukulele and singing in Northumberland and Cumbria.

Ian has three albums of his own songs, ‘Dancing with Shadows’ – produced by Rick Kemp (Steeleye Span’s bass man) in 2001 and ‘Rough Around the Edges’ – 2008, and his third album is One Voice One Guitar' (2018) is exactly what it says it is.

He played regularly with Newcastle’s Tenth Avenue Band at festivals in England, Ireland and Germany until the summer of 2012 but since then has become a feature at many festivals playing as a solo performer and developing a reputation for his ukulele workshops.

Ian normally runs his own regular Brewery Sessions in the Brew House at the famous Twice Brewed Inn on Hadrian’s Wall – they have always been full but currently a casualty of COVID19 along the many festivals he would be attending this summer which include Forgotten lands, Broadstairs Folk Week, Todmorden Folk festival, Redefest, Alnwick, The Mighty Dubfest, Woolfest, Music on the Marr, Corbridge, BAAfest, Allen Valleys and Waterfoot Wakes where he has performed solo, leads ukulele workshops and comperes…  often doing all three.

Ian is looking forward to playing 'Under the Sun' as it will be his first live performance since lockdown.
