Following on from the success of the first Under the Sun event back in 2020, come and celebrate 1350 years of Hexham Abbey with music, food and fun at the Etheldreda Festival.

Hexham Abbey’s Cloister Lawn will be transformed into a stage hosting talented musicians who will entertain you for the afternoon. They will perform a range of music from folk to street music, barber shop to New Grass. There’s something for everyone!

And who is Etheldreda? All will be revealed on the day, but she had an important part in setting up the Abbey.

Bring a blanket and a picnic, or buy food from the various stalls or the Abbey Refectory Café. Under the Sun is a family festival and the Abbey provides the perfect setting for a celebration of its 1350 years in Hexham.
