Burial register: Mr John Carr, bailiff of Hexham, 31 Oct 1715; Mr Thos Carr, 9 Mar 1731/32; Mr John Carr, 8 May 1738; Mr James Carr, 8 Jul 1747; Mrs Carr, wid, 3 Dec 1750.
1823: “In the old school and in other parts of the church are upright stones inserted in the ground, like the usual headstones in a churchyard, but these have little or no claim to notice. On one we find a memorial of five persons of the family of Carr, from 1715 to 1747” [A B Wright, 1823 p.95]
There was an earlier Carr ledger stone [HEXAB1274] somewhere in the chancel.
