St Peter is also depicted in two painted panels: HEXAB203.7 & HEXAB213.9; and six times in other windows: HEXAB1407.1, HEXAB1418.1 (twice), HEXAB1418.3, HEXAB1418.5, & HEXAB1423
Single lancet no timber frame. Below tabernacle work St Peter holds up his emblem, two keys, in his right hand. St Peter was granted the keys of Heaven by Christ (Matt. 16:18–19). One gold and one silver key symbolize respectively the gates of heaven and hell, thus the power to give absolution or to excommunicate. Inscription on a scroll held in his left hand across the body:
✠ CREDO IN DEUM PATR[EM] OMNIPOTENTEM CREATOREM CŒLI ET TERRÆ [I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth].
Below the figure: ✠ SANCTUS PETRUS ✠
Memorial Inscription across the foot:
IN MEMORY OF CHARLES AND BETSEY HEAD OF HACKWOOD HEXHAM BY THEIR SON JOHN OSWALD HEAD 1872
Stylistically almost certainly by Clayton & Bell of London.

This and no. N2 [HEXAB1404.1] were made as a pair, to commemorate John Oswald Head's wife and parents.
1996: Protected with 6 mm polycarbonate by B & R Glazing Co Ltd in June 1996 [Faculty reg. no.4, Faculty no.4762, granted 26 Jan 1996]
2011/2012: All the polycarbonate protection was removed and wire guards fitted by H&R Developments, Caulkerbush, Dumfries in Oct–Nov 2011 and Jan 2012. [Faculty dated 26 July 2011]
“In memory of Betsey, wife of Charles HEAD, who d. 15 May 1868 aged 67 yrs. Also of Charles HEAD who d. 11 Dec. 1868 aged 74 yrs. Also of Mary, wife of J.O.HEAD, buried at Naples 14 May 1872 aged 40 yrs.” [Inscription at Cemetery 30/15]
