Essential made of four planks; top, two sides, and stretcher perforated with five circular sets of four circles. Sides oak. Top elm? Sides have two wide slots giving impression of three members. The stretcher attached to middle of centre one. The sides also have separate feet.

“A credence table to be specially made for the Lady Chapel had been offered by Mrs Doris Brown.” [PCC Min. 22/6/1982 p.121 4.2]
A Riley & Glanfield drawing dated July 1982 [HEXAB3256.2] shows the same overall design of table, but with slightly different dimensions (H 737, W 762, D 470) and a different design of stretcher.
“Credence Table needs an archdeacon's certificate (cost £10), cost would be £275 + VAT. It was proposed and seconded that an application for an Archdeacon's Certificate should be made for a replacement Credence Table in the Lady Chapel, the gift of the Brown family. The motion was carried [unanimously].” [PCC Min. 28/6/1983 p.157 6.2]
“Abbey Credence Table is complete and awaiting collection.” [PCC Min. 15/12/1983 p.174]
“Credence Table donated by Mrs Doris Brown has been put in position and blessed.” [PCC Min. 24/01/1984 p.177 3.3]
1984: “Credence table donated by Mrs Doris Brown in memory of her husband was placed in the Lady Chapel.” [Churchwardens Record HEXAB9535 p52]
